Vegan Black Bean Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 pouch SEEDS OF CHANGE™ Organic Quinoa & Brown Rice with Garlic
  • 1 pouch SEEDS OF CHANGE™ Organic Savory Mexican Style Black Beans
  • 4 oz. mushrooms
  • 1 cup shredded broccoli slaw, or carrots
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil, divided
  • 6 Buns

  • Suggested toppings:
  • Grilled onions
  • Vegan cheddar slice
  • Vegan mayo
  • Stoneground mustard
  • Heirloom tomato
  • Butter lettuce

  • Suggested flavor add-ins:
  • ¼ - ½ tsp. smoked paprika
  • ¼ - ½ tsp. chipotle chili powder

Directions

  1. Add SEEDS OF CHANGE™ Organic Quinoa & Brown Rice and SEEDS OF CHANGE™ Organic Savory Mexican Style Black Beans, mushrooms, broccoli slaw, and flour to a food processor or blender. Process for about 2 minutes, stirring if needed, until mixture is a consistent texture but not completely smooth, it will be a bit sticky.
  2. Heat 1 Tbsp. oil in a frying pan over a medium-high heat. Coat your hands with the remaining oil to prevent mixture from sticking and form black bean mixture into patties. Place patties directly into hot pan, sprinkle with a pinch of salt if desired and cook for about 2 minutes per side or until browned and firm.
  3. Alternate cook method:
  4. Preheat oven to 425oF. Place patties on lined baking sheet and cook for 15 minutes. Carefully turn patties with a spatula and cook for 10-15 minutes more or until firm.
