Blackberry Lily - Pack

Really an iris, not a lily at all, the exotic orange flowers of this plant have red or purple spots. Blooms in July of the second year, and shiny black seeds follow the flower in September. Tubers from mature plants transplant easily. Short lived perennial. Warning: Root is potentially toxic. Sow 1 seed per inch directly in the garden in the spring after all danger of frost has passed. Start indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost. Transplant after danger of frost when two true leaves have appeared. Zones 5-9.
