This wild species from Oaxaca, Mexico (pronounced Zem-pul-so-chee-tul) is a spectacular bush that grows 5 feet tall by 4 feet wide with brilliant orange single flowers and a richly intense aroma. In its native land it is honored on All Souls Day or The Day of the Dead. Sow 1 seed per inch directly in the garden when danger of frost has passed. During germination, keep entire seedbed evenly moist. Keep well-watered through maturity. Harvesting tips: Pick at the peak of bloom.
