Bronze Fennel - Pack
Foeniculum vulgare var. rubrum
30-36 in. Hardy Perennial
With an attractive bronze cast to its lacy foliage, this fennel is similar in appearance to dill, though this variety does not form a bulb. Chopped leaves are excellent in soups, salads and stews. Makes a nice garnish. Sow 1 seed per inch in garden in rows 8-15 inches apart in late spring or early summer. Can also be sown indoors in flats 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Enrich soil with mature compost. Keep well watered through maturity allowing soil surface to dry between watering. Harvest leaves anytime after plant is 1 foot tall.
