County Line Harvest, owned by David and Franchesca, is one of our cooperating organic on-farm variety trial locations. They have trialed Seeds of Change lettuce and greens varieties over the last year. With extensive knowledge about specialty varieties, this is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the organic-gourmet industry. Additionally they live in a beautiful place and are enjoyable people. Please see notice below.

County Line Harvest Farm is a certified organic six acre mixed vegetable operation located 50 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco. We grow for high-end restaurants around the Bay area and are looking for one to two interns for the fall 2003 farm season.
County Line is a very diverse farm growing at least 50 varieties of crop over the season. The prospective interns we are looking for would have the opportunity to experience all aspects of the farm. We can offer hands-on experience in tractor skills, seed sowing, harvesting techniques and sales, to name a few things taking place daily on the farm. We encourage our interns to find an aspect of the daily life on the farm they enjoy and embrace it. No previous farming or gardening experience is needed, just a desire to learn and be a part of the farm.
With our location fairly close to San Francisco there is much to explore when not on the farm. Housing is in a large canvas tent or own tent, located under some beautiful old oak trees. Accommodations are basic, so just let us know what you need to make it more comfortable for you. We offer a weekly stipend starting at $125. After the first month it would increase.
A little bit about us...my name is David, I am 31 years old and I have been farming for about ten years in a number of different places. I stared this farm in the spring of 2000. My partner, Francesca works on the farm too. There is also a family from El Salvador—they have been working here since the farm started.
This is a great opportunity to learn about growing food, and how to make a living at it. We work hard and together. The summer days are long and busy on this little farm. We are looking to share what we know, meet new people and have a good time!
If you are still interested please call the farm. We are looking for people currently all the way through to Thanksgiving Day (late November) and mid December. We recommend a minimum stay of 6 weeks.
