SEEDS of CHANGE REALITY BITS

To produce 1 pound of feedlot meat takes 7 pounds of grain, which takes 7,000 pounds of water to grow.

- Time Magazine

Seeds of Change is switching out its seed packs to new reusable, recyclable envelopes? This state-of-the-art packaging requires less energy to manufacture, has a longer shelf life, can be resealed to store unplanted seed, reused for other purposes, or recycled as #1 plastic... Learn More

We can't decide whether to be happy or apologetic about this news... And so it is with mixed feelings that we announce that our donation seed has been distributed and we will not be able to fulfill further donation requests until January 2005. Best wishes to all of you who have helped make the 2004 seed donation season such a success and be sure to get your garden requests in early in 2005!

Program
Thank you for your interest in the Seeds of Change seed donation program. Depending on availability, we share seeds with organizations that promote education and sustainable living through organic gardening projects. Seeds of Change is committed to providing 100% certified organic, open-pollinated seeds of the highest quality including many heirloom, traditional, and unique Seeds of Change varieties. One third of the varieties Seeds of Change offers are heirloom and traditional. Through these seeds we share with gardeners and farmers our commitment to a sustainable future for all. We truly appreciate efforts which seek to educate and inspire.

Project OleDonations Coordinators
If you are involved in a school, community, or outreach program that could benefit from our donation program, please submit the form below. Our Donations Coordinators will review your request and send along seeds to benefit diverse groups around the nation and the globe. Nancy Shapiro and our dedicated customer service and shipping group wil enure that requests get fulfilled as quickly as possible. Not only does this program benefit you, but a lot of us at Seeds of Change find the program to be one of the most rewarding aspects of their job.

"Working with the Seeds of Change donation program has been one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Through it I have been connected with the most wonderful network of people doing good work around the country and in the world; programs that remind me that there is hope. On any given spring day I know that there are volunteers digging gardens for low income families or groups of young people learning about the mysteries of life from their plots at the community garden, elders tending their raised beds at the home and school children having garden adventures. Although I sit at my computer all day, my 'donation friends' tie me to the earth and help me remember what is possible with a few seeds, an open heart and willing hands. My thanks to everyone who has turned our leftover seed into wondrous garden projects!" Carrie Plymire, former Seeds of Change Customer Service Coordinator

We encourage everyone in the program to keep in touch by sending us letters, pictures, articles, or any other documentation regarding the progress or outcome of projects.
